Whether children or young people, neuro-typical or diverse, with or without Special Educational Needs - everybody can benefit from learning how to emotionally regulate and soothe the nervous system. Bringing in the concept of breath work and meditation alongside music making, dance, energy exercises and silence, anybody at any age can learn and enjoy the sensation of coming back into balance and vitality.
As a qualified youth worker, with over 20 years experience of formal and informal education , I hold space and encourage people to discover for themselves what it is they need, and support them in finding solutions. Drawing on my years as a DJ, holiday club leader, youth centre manager, learning support worker in schools and PRUs, and as an Empowered Learning Practitioner, I bring together a structured learning experience alongside the weaving together of ritual and community through the modalities of Sound, traditional cultures, particularly the Q'ero Indians of the Andes, drama, dance and art.
For the adult community groups - I work with parents, recovery groups and carers, amongst others. My passion is to support each of us connect with ourselves, so we may better connect with others - and to look after ourselves before we attempt to look after others. Self care is not selfish! In fact it is one of the most important things you can do for yourself and your family.
